I've read Doug McCune's comments on the subject and I have to agree. Whoever called this "functioning as expected" needs to have his head examined. Doug's comments were a bit more . . . strident.

I am working around it, though. I've created a Flash style (a swc) and I've applied the style to my project. With the style applied, I then move my components on my panels around to account for the spacing problem, which leaves the problem just with alerts.

My solution to alerts is to put a newline escape character at the beginning of every Alert, which moves the text of the alert down. This is a WAY cheesy way to get around the problem, but it does work and it looks OK.

Of course, I've created a programmatic solution to a style problem so if I were to remove my style, I'd have to go undo all the work I did to make it work. I'll live with it, though.

I got the same problem as you with this skin and the Panel, I don't like the idea of removing the borderSkin because I found it pretty.

It's quite strange that when I compile my project with command line it works but when I compile it through flex builder it doesn't.

Any one found the solution?

[...] The Flash UI Gurus at Yahoo decided to create their own Flex components skin, as they considered the default component skin to be a little too utilitarian, laking a little visual appeal and shiny disposition. Well, they decided to take matters in their own hands and created a spanking new Flex component skin, that looks great I might add. In my opinion halo (default flex theme) still looks cool, but is only natural that it losses it’s shine as time goes on. To read the original article via the Yahoo! Flash Blog click here [...]

I was able to get this skin to work decently in Flex 3 by commenting-out the borderSkin line under the Panel declarations in yflexskin.css. It takes it back to the default panel border but I can live with that for now.

Hi,
Also having problems using this skin with Flex 3. The Alert box looks very weird. The alert message overlaps the title for instance. Also having similar problems with the Panels?

Is it a problem with the scale-9 grid? Please suggest how to rectify this?

Kind Regards,
San

Anyone else finding mx:Panel titles with this Yahoo! skin (Flex 3) are not appearing right? The background color gets cut off and the content of the panel gets pushed up *into* the panel title/header area.

Just installed AIR 1.0 and the Alert boxes don't work correctly. Seems like an issue with the inherited Panel styles.
